Who is Zoo Book Sales ?
Ralph Curtis, a former live animal dealer in Sanibel, Florida, and his wife Billye decided to try their hand at selling natural history books in 1960. The business was a great success and before long Ralph and Billye were publishing books. *Many of our best-selling titles are Ralph Curtis publications including their popular photographic guide series.
In the fall of 1994 Zoo Book Sales was purchased by Eric Thiss, yet another former live animal dealer, and his wife Kathy. Located in the suburbs of Minneapolis for two years, they then moved their family to Lanesboro in the southeastern corner of Minnesota nestled in the Root River Blufflands with spectacular terrain.
Zoo Book Sales has continued to grow over the years as we continue to offer fine natural history books from around the world. Several are Zoo Book Sales exclusives. In January of 2000, the addition of Patricia Ledlie Booksellers allowed us to expand our botany, ecology, and conservation titles.
